The first “Krishi Vigyan Kendra” was sanctioned to the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner by ICAR, New Delhi at Chak-27- NTR, Nohar, Hunumangarh on 100% financing basis. From the available land of LRS, Nohar 81 bighas land was allotted for the KVK by the University. The KVK started its functioning on 9th April, 2012. The KVK is actively engaged in on farm trials, front line demonstrations, on campus and off campus farmers and farm women trainings and other extension activities such as field day, kisan mela, kisan gosthi, exhibition, method and result demonstrations, scientific visit to farmers field, exposure visit of farmers, animal health camps and farm science club and self help groups conveners meet etc. The KVK is very helpful for transfer of new techniques and technology to the farmers and livestock owners. The University is marching ahead to develop the KVK to be a model KVK where provisions will be made to provide all the facilities to the farmers.
However, presently the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is running in the Office Building of LRS Campus, Nohar as temporary arrangement the funds for building and other capital works are awaited.
Hanumangarh district is having seven Tehsils namely- Sangaria, Tibi, Pillibanga, Hanumangarh, Nohar, Bhadra and Rawatsar. Out of these three Tehsils Viz. Nohar, Bhadra and Rawatsar are being under the jurisdiction of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nohar, Hanumangarh-II.
International yoga day, Soil day, Food day, PMFBY, Pre seasonal, SAC Meeting
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra celebrate and conduct awareness programme on International Yoga day (21st June), World food day (16th October), World soil day celebration (5th December) during each year. Also conduct two preseasonal training programme, SAC meeting and other awareness programme for farmers, Farm women and Rural youth during every year.
